Your child's first alarm clock, on a phone you already own.
Luna is a free Android and iOS app that turns an old smartphone into a sleep clock and nightlight for children, controlled from a parent's phone over the home Wi-Fi.

About Luna
Luna turns a phone you no longer use into a bedside sleep clock for your child. One app, two modes: Alarm Clock mode on the old phone by the bed, Parental Device mode on yours. Pair them with a 4-digit code.
Your child sees a big, clear clock and an animated moon that shows whether it is still night or time to get up. You control everything from your phone: bedtime schedules, naps, nightlight, wake-up sounds, music and stories.

Use cases
When does Luna help?
The early riser
Woken at 5am by a child who thinks the night is over? The moon and the sun show them when they can get up, without reading a clock.
An old phone in a drawer
Instead of buying a kids alarm clock, give a second life to a smartphone you no longer use.
Naps
Start a nap from your phone, with a nightlight and a gentle alarm at the end, without entering the room.
The bedtime routine
Lullabies and bedtime stories on the clock, with a timer that stops the music at the right moment.
Features
Luna features
An old phone becomes a clock
Install Luna on a phone you no longer carry and stand it by the bed: that's your child's sleep clock.
Parental remote control
From your own phone, over your Wi-Fi, run the clock without entering the room. Pairing uses a 4-digit code.
A clock made for kids
A big clear clock, a moon at night, a sun in the morning, and a progress bar showing how much night is left.
Nightlight
The edge of the screen glows in one of 12 preset colours, with adjustable brightness.
Schedules and naps
Repeating bedtime schedules per weekday, and naps from 1 to 180 minutes, with optional nightlight and alarm.
Gentle wake-up sounds
Seven alarm tones and eight wake-up tracks, with volume ramping up gradually from silence.
Music and stories
Send your own songs, lullabies and bedtime stories to the clock. They then play with no connection.
Listen and answer
Hear the room from your phone and answer your child, with a notification when the room gets loud. Nothing is recorded.
Fits a 3D-printed case
Adjust the screen padding and corner radius so the display lines up inside a custom case.

FAQ
Luna: frequently asked questions
What is Luna?
Luna is a free Android and iOS app that turns an old smartphone into a sleep clock and nightlight for children, controlled from a parent's phone.
How do I turn an old smartphone into a kids alarm clock?
Install Luna on the old phone and choose Alarm Clock mode, then install it on your own phone in Parental Device mode. Pair them with the 4-digit code shown on the clock.
My child can't read a clock yet. Will it work?
Yes. An animated moon means it's still night and a sun means it's time to get up; a progress bar shows how much of the night is left.
Does Luna work as a nightlight?
Yes. The edge of the screen glows in one of 12 colours with adjustable brightness, and can switch on automatically with bedtime schedules.
Do I need an internet connection?
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Music and stories you send are copied to the clock and play with no connection.
Is Luna free?
Yes. Luna is free, with no ads and no required subscription. You can choose to support development with a one-off or monthly contribution.
